🌿 A Peaceful May: Pray • Read • Reflect Journal - Release Control to God

✨ When Your Thoughts Feel Heavy Going Into a New Season

As summer begins to approach, everything around you starts to feel lighter longer days, warmer evenings, and more opportunities to get outside.

But internally… it doesn’t always match.

You might still feel:

  • stuck in your thoughts

  • overwhelmed by what hasn’t changed

  • mentally exhausted from overthinking everything

And instead of feeling excited for a new season, you feel like you’re carrying the same weight into it.

I’ve had seasons like that too, where my mind wouldn’t slow down, even when life around me felt calm.

And what I’ve learned is this:

Peace doesn’t come from fixing everything.
It comes from gently shifting where your focus goes.

📖 What If Peace Isn’t About Doing More?

One of the biggest shifts that helped me was realizing I didn’t need to:

  • think harder

  • figure everything out

  • or fix every anxious thought

I needed to pause… and bring my thoughts back to God.

📖 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.”

Peace isn’t found in controlling your thoughts.
It’s found in redirecting them.

🌿 A Simple Way to Reset Your Mind Daily

This is exactly why I created the May Pray • Read • Reflect Journal Bundle.

Not as something overwhelming…
but as a gentle daily reset.

A way to:

  • slow your thoughts

  • release what’s weighing on you

  • and refocus on truth

Even if you only have 5 minutes.

✨ How to Use This Journal (Simple + Realistic)

You don’t need a perfect routine.
You just need a moment of intention.

Here’s how this can look:

1. 🙏 PRAY

Say what’s actually on your heart.

Not polished. Not perfect.
Just honest.

2. 📖 READ

Focus on one verse.

Let it ground you instead of overwhelming you.

3. 📝 REFLECT

Write it out.

This is where your thoughts slow down
and truth starts to settle in.

🪴 Calming Tip of the Day

Calming Tip of the Day

Take your journal outside.

Sit in quiet, even for a few minutes, and let yourself breathe while reading and writing.

There’s something about being in God’s creation that naturally softens anxious thoughts and helps you feel present again.

🎥 Take a Quiet Moment

Pause here for a few seconds.
Let your mind slow down… and just be still.

📖 Key Bible Verses for This Month

  • “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast…”

  • “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

  • “Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.”

  • “Do not merely look out for your own interests, but also for the interests of others.”

These verses will guide you through gently shifting your focus:

  • from fear → truth

  • from overthinking → trust

  • from inward pressure → outward peace

🌿 What This Month Is Really About

May isn’t about becoming a “better” version of yourself.

It’s about:

  • letting go of the pressure

  • stepping out of the mental spiral

  • and creating space for God to lead your thoughts

As you move into summer, this is your invitation to:

  • slow down

  • notice more

  • and gently shift your focus

Because sometimes peace doesn’t come from going deeper into your thoughts…

It comes from stepping outside of them.

🙏 A Simple Prayer for This Season

Prayer for Overthinking

Lord,
My mind feels full, and sometimes I don’t know how to quiet it.

Help me release the thoughts I keep holding onto.
Teach me how to pause and come back to You instead of spiraling.

Shift my focus from what’s overwhelming me
to what is true, steady, and good.

Lead me into a season of peace,
not because everything is perfect,
but because I am trusting You.

In Jesus Name, Amen.

💛 Final Encouragement

You don’t have to carry every thought that comes into your mind.

This month, just take it one day at a time.

One prayer.
One verse.
One small shift.

That’s how peace begins.
